Happy Monday lovely ladies! I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are ready for a productive week ahead. This past weekend we went to a charity even called Evening of Hope and it is for a ministry called SOS International. They help women and children after they have been sex trafficked. They give them shelter, food and biblical counseling. It was amazing and we are so touched by the work they do. After the event, Raymond and I went to our usual spot Mi Cocina for a little date night. Saturday we ran errands and went to the movies and Sunday we had church and youth group in the evening. I had a great weekend!
Since I have been a little MIA on my blog I wanted to share a life update with you on what I’ve been up to the past month.
- I am so excited because we are only one month away from our European vacation that we have been planning and working so hard for. I seriously cannot wait and will be vlogging all of it for you and posting it on my YouTube channel. We are going on a cruise to Portugal, France England and Spain…whaaaat! I could seriously cry right now because it has been my dream to go to Europe for years and I cannot believe that this is real life. We, like everyone else I know, love to travel and have been extremely blessed to be able to travel to beautiful places in the 4+ years Raymond and I have been married. This is our longest, most expensive, most planned out, most anticipated adventure yet and it has taken a lot effort and energy to get everything coordinated for the two weeks we will be there. I have been focusing on this trip for the past month doing lots of research. So with that being said I have been shopping a lot for our trip the past month. It’s supposed to be in the 70’s in May where we are going so lots of spring outfits are in order. You can see what I purchased so far below (ps don’t judge, lol).
- I have been focusing on my fitness routine and training for a 10k with my bestie Brooke. I started working out in November and have not stopped since. I have completely fallen in love with running and all things fitness that I truly do feel like a different person. I have been running about 10+ miles a week and hitting the gym twice a week. Like who am I?! HA! I have come such a long way from where I was and feel so incredibly proud of myself for the discipline I have developed. I am loving the results of my hard work. I feel stronger, leaner, more clear in my head and have overall more energy. I love the feeling of getting through a work out sweaty knowing that I pushed myself. I am not nearly where I want to be in this goal, but I would say I am about 60% there.
- I have been reading a lot. I just finished my 8th book of the year. I read The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k by Mark Manson and I give it a 3 out of 5 stars. Ok, I know the title is kind of offensive but I got passed it after hearing it was good. I have learned that there is something to learn from everyone and even if I learn only 10% it was worth it. One of my favorite things from the book was when he explained that we are always looking for the next high and never allow the process to take place. For example, you lost your job but hey it’s ok you’ll be fine and maybe now you can look for something that you really love right? Well according to him always looking at the positive is searching for the next high because you don’t allow yourself the time or feelings to go through the process which in this case is defeat. There is something powerful that happens when we are at our lowest. You cannot have the reward and skip the process. You can’t be happy unless you know what it’s like to be sad. I really liked this and thought it was refreshing. I am generally a positive person and have seen God turn things around for me quick but I have to admit that when something goes wrong, those are the time when I grow even closer to him.
- We started (and finished) The Crown on Netflix and loved it! I mean this show is incredible. I love the story line which is based of facts in history, but obviously dramatized for views purposes, but man I am a huge fan and cannot believe we didn’t watch it earlier. The dialogue, the characters and the way they are protrayed is amazing. Queen Elizabeth was only 25 years old when she took the crown. That is my current age!! I can’t imagine having that kind of responsibility at such a young age. If you haven’t watched it you need to. It started off clean and I mean no profanity or nudity and then there were a couple of cuss words here and there and some sex scenes that are completely unnecessary. If you can skip through those parts, please do so and watch the show. Mkay done.

Bible Verse of the Week
13 Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. James 5:13-16
